Please Take Care of Me

I don’t know about you, but when it’s cold outside and my feet see socks with shoes more often than in the warmer months I tend to neglect them. It’s common. However, for those with diabetes foot care should be a constant.

Regular self foot exams are essential as well as visits to your podiatrist. Poor circulation for those with diabetes can lead to nerve damage. With nerve damage the feet can become injured without you even feeling that injury. A few things you want to look out for when conducting your self exam are bunions, toenail pain, and calluses.

A regular program of hygiene, common sense, and regular podiatric medical examinations can keep you on you feet and active. We all need to care for our feet. After all, they are what helps us move around in this world.
